Cyberbullying is using technology to bully people. Most of cyberbullying takes place on: social media, messaging platforms, gaming platforms, and mobile phones.Unicef.org says “ people usually spread lies, post embarrassing things, send harmful/hurtful messages, and impersonate the victim in order to bully them”.With the use of technology, the bully has free reign to do what he wants against the victim.Sherri Gordon says”Those who get cyberbullied usually require therapy or someone to talk to for them to recover”.Depending on how much the bullying affected the person will be how much time it requires for them to recover. Some do not recover from cyberbullying and end up suffering from worst situations. The bullies can make the victim feel worthless in life and cause some pretty bad thoughts for the victim to think about.

Whilst those who are affected the most by cyberbullying are victims, those who cyberbully can face consequences for their actions. The article “Legal Consequences of Cyberbullying” from The Law Office of Yuriy Moshes states that “Depending on various circumstances of your particular case, it may include fines from few hundreds to few thousands of dollars. Also, the bully may get a few months of jail time.” Those who are a victim to cyberbullying also have a wide variety of sources they can contact for support and litigation, such as the social media company that is the head of the social media used, the internet service provider used by the victim, or even the police. Despite that outlets for support and the consequences cyberbullies face, many of those who cyberbully are not reported due to a victims reluctance to report due to either fear that the situation will get worse, or that the solution to the situation may be viewed as time consuming.
